Finance for Tradies
Utes, tools, cash flow and tax bills funded for sole traders and small trade companies.

How lenders look at a trade business
Your income arrives job by job. One month a builder pays three invoices at once, and the next you are waiting on a progress claim while materials, fuel and wages still go out. Lenders who fund trade businesses expect that pattern. They look at your business bank statements, your BAS, how long your ABN has been active and the work you have booked, rather than a payslip.
That gives an electrician, plumber or builder real choice. Many trade files can be assessed full-doc (tax returns), or low-doc or alt-doc (BAS, bank statements or an accountant's letter instead), and the ute, van or equipment you are buying can often secure the loan on its own. Joseph Farhat and his team review your position, match it to lenders across our panel of 90+ bank, non-bank, and specialist lenders, and manage the application through to settlement.
What tradies most often bring to us
A new ute or van for the business
A vehicle used mainly for work can be financed as a business asset and assessed on how your trade runs. The vehicle is usually the security, rather than property. Dealer, private and auction purchases can all be funded, with a check that no finance is still owing on a privately sold vehicle.
Business car loansTools, plant and equipment
A mini excavator, a scissor lift, a drain camera or a trailer full of gear can be paid off over its working life. Under a chattel mortgage, the business owns the item from the day it is bought and the lender holds security over it until the loan is repaid. Your accountant can confirm how the GST and tax side is treated for your business.
Equipment and asset financeMaterials and wages before the builder pays
A bigger job often means buying materials up front and paying your crew on time while invoices sit on 30 or 60 day terms. An overdraft limit on your business account, or a short unsecured loan, covers that gap and is repaid when the payment lands. Since 1 July 2026, super has to be paid with each pay run, so trade employers now carry that cost on the same day as wages.
Business overdraftA tax bill after a strong year
A busy year can leave GST, PAYG instalments (tax paid in advance through the year) and income tax due at the same time. Some lenders will pay the ATO balance in full and let you repay it over a set term. Your accountant confirms the figures first, then Joseph Farhat and his team look at what can be funded.
